Creative strategy for mission-minded leaders
Pulley Advising helps missional organizations do a lot with a little.
A pulley reduces the force needed to lift a heavy load. Mission-minded organizations working toward significant change and growth want to know where and how to apply that same kind of leverage for outsized impact in the communities they serve.

The promise of paradox
Strategic leverage, human-scale solutions.
Pulley Advising is an independent consulting practice that helps mission-minded clients maximize their care and service to others. It supports leaders who want to know where and how to apply strategic leverage for outsized impact while seeking sustainable solutions that honor the human need for beauty, wholeness, and rest.
A pulley is a simple machine that requires relatively little effort to unleash a lot of force. George Herbert’s poem “The Pulley” (1633) speaks to the generative paradox that our human restlessness for meaning and purpose is yoked to our physical need for rest.

So strength first made a way;/Then beauty flowed, then wisdom, honour, pleasure./When almost all was out, God made a stay,/Perceiving that, alone of all his treasure,/Rest in the bottom lay.
George Herbert, “The Pulley” (1633)
